Can you explain to me what NaNoWriMe means – that might explain your version of the recipe that I received in a “recipe chain mail” all those many years ago. My recipe goes like this –

2 lbs chuck steak; 2 large carrots; 4 sticks of celery; 1 large onion; 1 tsp salt; 1 dsp curry powder; 1 T golden syrup; juice ½ lemon; 2 T flour, 1 cooking apple; 10oz tomato soup; 1 cup water.

Combine all ingredients. Simmer gently for 2 hours. Serve with hot rice.

The easy part is throwing it all in a pot, giving it a good stir, and cooking it. No frying garlic, onions etc. No peeling, chopping veges etc (oh, except for the carrots and celery), no garlic. Your ingredients differ from mine, too, so maybe your recipe came from somewhere else. Sounds interesting though."

So there you have it - an even easier version.
